Notes

Monte-Carlo 30 - A bit of history: After selling the RIVA brand, Carlo Riva collaborated in the creation of the "Monte Carlo Offshorer" series. The aim was to create a motor boat capable of matching the Aquarama Special in terms of build quality, power and liveability on board but with better handling at sea. Developed in collaboration with engineer Bob Hobbs and with Cal Connel, owner of Crusader Marine, the Monte Carlo Offshorer 27 (1970s), 30 (1980s) and 32 (early 1990s), were built in fiberglass, with a "stepped" hull to improve stability. On the Monte Carlo Offshorer 27 the engines were mid-mounted, which lowered the boat's center of gravity, helping to improve maneuverability. Cal Connel designed the drive system and Bob Hobbs designed the hull structure with help from Connel himself. The fittings were the same as those of the Rivas at the time. Most Offshore 30s could exceed 55 knots maximum speed in standard configuration. The first boats were built by Mare Sole in Ventimiglia under the supervision of CARLO RIVA, later in avant-garde shipyard in Bevera di Ventimiglia (IM) called MARE E SOLE SPA, later becoming OFFSHORER MARINE, a shipyard taken over in 1989 by RENATO DELLA VALLE and GIANFRANCO ROSSI, recognized Offshore champions. In 1983, Gianfranco Rossi, Offshore world champion built a first Monte-Carlo Offshorer model and launched the brand at the same time. "The Monte-Carlo Offshore were the first dayboats built with a stepped hull"
